Each meeting began with a brief foray into the history, introducing students to the life and legacy of Petr Moiseyevich Pospelov, the first rector of the Karaganda Medical Institute, and highlighting his invaluable contribution to the establishment and development of the university, medical education, and the country's healthcare system. It is after Petr Moiseyevich that Karaganda Medical University is now named.

The Vice-Rector for Academic and Social Work, healthcare veterans, deans, heads of structural units, and university activists familiarized the freshmen with the university's opportunities and resources, as well as the regulatory documents governing core processes at the university. They discussed organizational issues, explained procedures for seeking assistance when needed, and addressed various other concerns. Special emphasis was placed on explaining the principles of academic integrity and the necessity of adhering to them.
