Institute of Life Sciences
Institute of Life Sciences (hereinafter referred to as INoJ) is a structural unit of the university (hereinafter referred to as - KMU), carrying out the planning, organization, provision of educational and research activities of foreign universities, research teams of the University and other scientific organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the implementation of bachelor's degree programs in GOP "Biological and related Sciences" and postgraduate education (master's degree, doctoral degree)
The main tasks of the Institute of Life Sciences
- Planning, organization and coordination of scientific and innovative activities of the University;
- Monitoring the implementation of scientific and innovative research at the University;
- Methodological support of scientific and innovative activities of the University;
- Identification of objects of industrial and intellectual property and ensuring their legal protection;
- Professional editorial support of the University's publishing activities;
- Organization of accounting for scientific and innovative achievements of the University;
- Planning, organization and coordination of the main activities and recommendations on the strategy of development and implementation of educational programs;
- Development and implementation of educational programs;
- Organization, planning, provision and control of the educational process, scientific activity within the framework of mastering the skills of independent research work by students;
- Development of measures for the development of international cooperation for the implementation of joint educational programs, academic mobility of students, international projects;
- Organization and control of educational work;
- Planning, organization and control of work on the distribution and employment of graduates
- Planning, organization and implementation of scientific research at the Institute of Life Sciences, production of scientific products;
- Implementation of fundamental and applied research, according to the plan of scientific research and development; release of scientific products;
- Performing fundamental and applied research, in accordance with requests from external organizations, on a contractual basis.

International cooperation
The Institute has more than 40 existing international treaties on cooperation with higher educational institutions, scientific organizations, the outgoing and incoming program is being successfully implemented academic mobility. It is designed for students and teachers. The academic mobility program gives our students the opportunity to study at another university (domestic or foreign) during one academic period. At the same time, all loans disbursed and grades received are recalculated without fail. Foreign citizens can study at our university under the incoming mobility program.
The history of the Institute
The history of the creation of the Institute of Life Sciences dates back to 1966, when the Central Research Laboratory (TSNIL) was organized.
In 1991, a research center was organized, the first head of which was Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor E.N. Sraubaev, in subsequent years the center was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor T.U. Turganbekov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor N.V. Kozachenko, Doctor of Medical Sciences I.S. Azizov, Doctor of Medical Sciences.K. Dyusembayeva, Ph.D. T.T. Edilbayeva, PhD D.B. Babenko.
In 2022, the Research Center was transformed into the Institute of Life Sciences, which also included units belonging to the Research School of the NAO "MUK". As a result of the transformation, the Institute was also given the leadership of the educational programs of the bachelor's degree in GOP "Biological and related Sciences" and postgraduate education (master's degree, doctoral studies)
